Behold
They tell us not to overthink
but they ask us how to get to
where we're going, wanting
us to know the roads away
from throbbing trouble
they tell us we are kind
of weird, to spend our time
with brainiacs who speak
in riddles on the page
but then they ask us to
assure them that their own
hard thoughts can walk
their walks with all the
ease we gently squeeze into
their begging brains
they tell us we just sit
inside too long
we should get out away
from all our useless
ponderings
until they need to close
the door behind them
grasp our hands and look
into the caverns of our minds
to find the place where
lingering may hold a key
they need to calm the chaos
that is tapping on their fears
