Growing Up Everyday

Growing Up Everyday

Every day you grow
Learning new tricks,
Discovering novel words, and innovative expressions.
With growth, some innocence fades away.
In the corner, rosebuds begin to bloom,
But with each day, thorns too appear.

Every day you grow,
Time nurtures your long hair,
Yet, don't let it cascade so,
That it masks the sun, making me believe it's evening.

Every day you grow,
Eyes clench so firmly,
That even if I turn into darkness
It can't pierce through the lids.
I know it's your playful mischief,
That I shall see you even in the dark.

Every day you grow,
Insane wind gets you,
She comes back screaming in the evening
With thunder, lightning, and clouds that burst with a roar.
Having you close is comforting then.

Such is the way,
Growing up with you every day.
