The Internet Of Things Is Our Thing
Part 2
The Journal of Global Health Reports points
out that there was a global conspiracy theory
claiming that the fifth generation mobile
telecommunication technology, known as 5G
was the cause of the novel coronavirus disease
(COVID -19), that the electromagnetic radiation
from the fifth generation mobile communication,
which is the new, high-speed wireless technology
since radiofrequency radiation (RF) is increasingly
being identified as a new form of environmental pollution—
was responsible for the mutation of the coronavirus, and
that the 5G was a strategy by the industrialized nations
to control the population of the less industrialized ones etc.
This piece does not seek to explore those conspiracies
and their possible implications for compliance with non-
pharmaceutical preventive strategies prescribed for the
control of the novel coronavirus by the World Health
Organization. Suffice to say that the internet of things
is not without its fears, controversies and conspiracies.
Yet, perhaps the internet of things is your thing.
Microsoft has stated that it will be presenting
its own artificial intelligence dubbed Copilot.
The new kid on the block is on the Microsoft
365 software suite, firstly for a select of twenty
entities, after all, artificial intelligence is expected
to provide the power to transform every level or layer
of an organization and to enable individuals and teams
to be more creative , productive and precise result—wise.
Did you seriously say the internet of things is your thing?
Talking about the issue of seriousness or decisiveness,
I hear Sir Tim Berners-Lee is a serious man. Here is one
man who certainly knows that AI has limitless possibilities.
If the internet is a relevant but irreverent, compromised, mischievous
and porous arena and jungle, he is on a mission to fix it! For starters,
he is the creator of the net. What is the crust of matter here? Control.
Think of two Cs tagging at each other fiercely. One C for control,
the other for corporations. Hence the originator of the net is chipping
in to repair the damage that has happened. How does his plan look like?
The inventor of the internet wants to see each and every user of the net
having their own AI rooting for them. Call them AI guardians or guards.
Please, be quiet now, I (over)hear Sir Tim Berners-Lee address them…
“We’ve placed too much control in the hands of major corporations
who are able to collate and loot our users’ data as they please but
guess what?— the honeymoon’s over! We’ll look at insulating
each user’s data in a pod , with you, AI. Your duty is to defend it
against unwanted access. Am I’m making myself clear, dear AI?”
AI: ”Yes, Sir. That’s not a mission impossible. Consider it done.”
