Crosses

By Frederick Foote

Crosses

You suffer me
I tolerate you

We pull together
to push apart
to bitter ends

You grieve loudly
I endure resentfully

Days without end
our endless days
bleed into restless
nights until one of us
breaks down one
last time

Wow! An expression of relationships, mourning, differences in the manner in which we experience human interactions with loved ones. Very poignant.

This is beautiful. Two sides of the same coin, how one deals with EVERYTHING. I really like the total essence of this.

This is every relationship at one point or another I think. I really love showing both sides as Mr. Foote did. I also think the line breaks are placed rather strategically. Really enjoyed this piece.
