Backtrack

By Robin Wyatt Dunn

Backtrack

let's backtrack a bit
the parts of my brain that were sensitive to the commotion
aren't there any more
we're removing that gray stuff
it saw too much

let's backtrack a bit
over here is the road
the man you were
the things you saw

over here is the road, again
with everything you're willing to ignore
with everything you can no longer see
hovering around you, invisible

you're untouchable.
