The High Priestess

By Catherine Arra

The High Priestess

No need for a crystal ball
or pendulum.
No palmist, priest or priestess.

The map
of your history, destiny
your feminine knowing
floats between fluttering lashes
winks behind violet lace
in ripples, whispers
in eventide, solitude, dreams.

Defer to voicelessness,
defy logic.
Glide green seawater
dive brackish depths.
Swim with octopi and urchins.

Abide by moonlight.
Move only with tides.
