Alien Thoughts
I’ve always seen Earth like this. From way
up high, a fragile stone, no more than a tiny dot,
where all I have are my thoughts.
Now, it lies on the brink of ruin.
Amazon replaces Amazon, and drills
pierce the Earth, looking for a way into Tartarus.
There’s no place for me to land anymore.
It forces me to shout, praying endlessly for an
answer in all this infinite space.
Perhaps some day you can join me up here,
but I’m afraid today is not that day.
I only have so much room on my vessel.
I’m not fit to be a rescuer, and humanity
has never been my friend, their prying
eyes have always haunted me.
But I can see the Earth again now, and quickly
everything seems to turn
into nothing.
Then the stars start to move,
And their glow seems beautiful tonight,
overwhelming the growing darkness of that spinning globe.
