Boyfriend Haiku
Saturday morning.
Me and Hazel. In the park.
A beautiful day.
A man is walking
his Pit Bull. Hazel bristles.
Barks. She wants to fight.
But the Pit Bull rolls
over on his back. Belly
up. What a sweet boy!
Hazel jumps on him.
They scuffle, chase, play. He’s big.
But gentle with her.
Hazel adores him.
I think he’s in love with her.
Geez. This is too weird.
Now my Chihuahua,
who thinks she’s a Pit Bull, has
a Pit Bull boyfriend.
How bizarre is that?
The man just laughs. He looks at
me and smiles. Oh, my.
A nice guy with a
sweet dog. A cute guy. Really.
Really. Cute. Really.
Okay. Florida
men. Maybe, they’re not so bad
after all, you know?
