You Are More Elegant Than Words

You Are More Elegant Than Words

At times words worsen, drivel or deviate.
Mostly, in moments and developments
that lure or lead to distress or defeat.
Not you. Your polish is peaceful.
Steady, you stand at life’s crossroads.

You don’t say as much as a whisper or a word.
And when you say nothing, there is a tendency
to think you are nothing too, yet you’re superb.
Wordless, you constitute the critical moments
whose decisions can shape the course of one’s future.

In a soul you can speak volumes.
Your language, though, wordless
is profound, glorious and powerful.
You are the presence of maturity,
the wisdom and the depth of devotion.
Are you not the footmark of spirituality too?

You are more expressive, extant, stirring
and articulate than antics or arguments.
You drive one to think over something
in one’s heart until reality hits home.

Speechless, gestured and telepathic;
you are more fluent and felt than words.
In instants of conflict and confusion,
you remain cool or composed and help
still emotions or tempers as you create
a prospect for sensible or rational thought.

You take a step back, you take a long breath,
seeking to gain a grasp of the state of affairs,
since you don’t want to shoot or hit back
sensationally, senselessly and hurriedly.
You seek an operative, creative solution.
You want sanity to take root, center stage.

You mollify the mind, soothe the heart.
You are a therapy and a stable, solid mast
at the hour of torture or temptation,
just like at the moment of the cross.
You help one attain greater mental clarity.
You help one create space for inner peace.
Is it not sensible, desirable for one to find serenity
and sanity outside the activity of the mad moment?

Friend of peace, you allow for more attentive listening
to a higher voice and reflections on traditions of harmony
. You give sense, deepness and distinction to life
and its measured acts of relaxation, concentration
and contemplation. Minding the right state of mind.

Your other chum is solitude. Now and then, privacy
is synonymous with peace. Is it not precious too?
Peace of mind is ultimate. Another ‘p’ is positivity.
Tedious toxicity shells you yet you choose aloneness.
With all the flurrying and jostling, everyone deserves
a “me time”, that time when self-interest is positive!
Silence, I know you are wordless, but worthy and earshot.
