"Mes de los Muertos"

Awe

By Fabrice Poussin

Awe

Still on the steel stainless as ice
palms softly posed in constant obedience
he listens to the gentle steps of the companion.

Carrying younger years deep into the night
wearing the white of angels she exhales
a sigh to erase the dull ache of a broken peace.

Blade upon metal resonates through the limbs
waiting for the touch of hopeful futures
he remains eyes open to the secret intentions.

Sparks of his imagination wish for a tremble
traveling though the fibers seeking a shock
as she nears what he is yet for a moment more.

Heavy with the eternal sleep of the just
the image as that of the muse he so longed for
becomes the infinite dream of his destiny.
