Silence
Trees silently push out
a new ring each year
loudly telling their story
of fires and droughts
to all who care to listen.
Headstones mark
the life of one long past,
yet speak volumes
to those who come
to remember and mourn
Mountains rise in majesty
sending their snow capped shadows
across a windless lake
talking in whispers of days
long ago when the earth
pushed up in a tumult of vibrations
Children sit in anticipation
reading the adventures
of Harry Potter, their minds
filled with thoughts
of magic and sorcery
World quickly spins
through a restless universe
dead stars still being heard
from light years away
