"Mes de los Muertos"

the tapestries of us

By Linda M. Crate

the tapestries of us

let us swim in rose-colored sunsets,
and kiss beneath a carnelian moon
dusted in shimmering whispers of gold;
let us dance in the fabric of the sky
and hold conversation with every
star and constellation etched there --
let us fall into every ocean,
and touch every mountain that kisses
our sight;
let us breathe in every moment
and taste only the sweetness of a
love unconditional and everlasting --
every moment we spend apart is
one of aching,
so every time we are together let us
explore something new about
the world and each other until our
tapestries are so sewn together that no one
can ever rip them apart.
