The Concept of Distance

The Concept of Distance

Distance could be…
The blossoming leaves of uncertainty
In the stillness of night
Encumbered by silence on both ends.
Silence: a flower, slowly wilting, waiting for daybreak.

Distance could be…
An equation far more unbalanced than any variables of speed & time
Mind multiplied by mind divided by two bodies
Passage of a sigh carrying two heavy breaths
a wafer-thin gap between cracked walls longer than any infinity could surmise

Distance could be…
The heart’s revenge on the skin that longs for coarse hands and wet love
The space of pain between two alphabets, now divorced, looking on either sides of a sentence
The equivocating dialogues finding fulcrum, losing balance, lying dead
On the blinding white screens in the dead of night

Distance could be…
One night transmuting into sixty
Tiny rooms with expanding & shrinking views of morphed landscapes
Two roads, one city and an airport that leads to a beach

Distance could be…
Interjecting shadows on long winding roads
Promises catapulting into skies
A deeper shade of wine coloured memories
sepia toned evenings
that could have been remembered
at an end of a story.
But remained too far.
