Where the Fallen Leaves Land

By George Gad Economou

Where the Fallen Leaves Land

where the fallen
leaves land, puddles of murky water straight out of
some godly prick -- feral cats wail as the foodtray’s
gone, the drunk’s liver betrayed him and there’s no
one to feed them -- conspicuous sounds every
night, someone sharpens a kitchen knife, ready to plunge
it into his neighbor’s gut -- located bastards demand their
share of the fortune, assassinations are being planned out -- roars
from the stadium, fire and smoke as the city’s being
burned to the
ground -- lovemaking’s dead, they all want polyamory -- good
food rots away in trash cans, expired cans a prized treasure for
the impoverished -- a nuclear missile got lost in
orbit, circling the planet, waiting to fall -- a lone
sparrow cries on a windowsill, gin distilleries went
bankrupt -- death of a single atom, chain reaction to
lead to absolute annihilation.
