Adieu!

By Pranab Ghosh

Adieu!

That chair is not vacant…
Someone else sits on it now

That PC does not sit idle
Someone else uses it now…

I used to share the table,
Long wooden, with him

Whenever I went…

Cups of tea, evening snack
Together.
The evening sky from the
Rooftop of his office building
The sinking sun, the soft
Breeze rustling through the
Leaves of the nearby trees

Someone told me the other day
He has left…
His chair…
His table…
His PC…
For another world…

I bow in front of the time
We spent together

Work…chat…laugh…

I no longer enter that room!
