Writer's Digest 5th Annual Short Short Story Competition

12th Annual Writer's Digest International Self-Published Book Awards
www.writersdigest.com/contestsAll entries must be published or revised and reprinted in 2002, 2003 or 2004. (Writer's Digest may require proof from semi-finalists.) No photocopied or handwritten books will be accepted. Entrants must send a printed and bound self-published book.
Books can be entered in nine categories, including literary fiction, genre fiction, nonfiction and poetry.
The deadline is December 15, 2004.
Prizes:
- Grand Prize -- $3,000 cash and book promotion in Writer's Digest and Publisher's Weekly
- First Place (9 awarded) -- $500 cash and book promotion in Writer's Digest
- Honorable mentions will be awarded.
Entry fee: $100

Ghost stories, closing date is this Wednesday, October 27, 2004. Ten thousand words or less, fiction or non-fiction. Ghosts are encouraged, but any horror topics will work. More info.
Darklight anti-fanfic, running now through Jan 31, 2005. Retell the terrible sci-fi channel movie to share among fellow (anti)fans or come up with an original idea based on the demoness Lilith for possible publication in the Press. More info.
